Rev. Shauncey D. Hatten, Sr.

PASTOR, SOUTH PHOENIX BAPTIST CHURCH

Shauncey D. Hatten was installed as Pastor of South Phoenix Missionary Baptist Church (SPMBC) on August 6, 2023. Pastor Hatten answered the call to ministry at the early age of 17, under the direct leadership of Dr. Bernard Black. He received his license and ordination into the ministry and was a faithful steward to Dr. Black as his one and only armor bearer. He served in this position for several years. In 2021, Pastor Hatten assumed the position of Head Associate Minister at SPMBC. Pastor Hatten was born and raised in Phoenix Arizona. He started serving at SPMBC as a child by singing in the Angel Choir before moving up to the Bernard Black Voices for Christ Young Adult

Choir. He has been an active member at SPMBC his entire life.

Pastor Shauncey received his Biblical Studies certifications from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, Southwest School of Theology, and the Arizona Biblical Studies Institute. He is currently in the master’s program for Biblical Theology at LifePoint Christian University with an anticipated graduation date in the spring of 2025. While Pastor Shauncey continues to advance his Biblical studies, his most noteworthy accomplishment is being a chosen, born-again servant of the Lord, Jesus Christ.
