News The ICUA of the District of Columbia attended the 106 th NUCUA Convention in Phoenix, Arizona. Highlights from the convention

• The District of Columbia was honored with a Certificate of Recognition for being the second highest donor to the Leroy Johnson Community Development Foundation. This award was given in appreciation of our outstanding generosity and commitment to the foundation’s mission. We also won second place in the William H. Davis Special Project. • Our very own Jeannette S. Riddick was asked to continue serving and happily accepted the position of National Chairman of the Alma Cooper Hawkins Public Relations Department. Ms. Riddick also serves as a member of the ‘Donna A. Hines Technical Team’. • The George T. Grier School of Ushering held classes at 6:30 AM each morning. The following District of Columbia participated and taught. o Carolyn Brown-Beginners Class o Melinda Wilkins-Advanced Instructors o Phyllis P. Dorsey-Master’s Degree students o Dean Juanita Prophet-Sunday Beginner’s Class o Robin Holt-Junior School of Ushering • Ms. Anna Rowe won 1st Place Class A King and Queen Contest, raising an estimated $11, 000 • Stafford Conley won 1 st Place Junior Department King

• Coordinator Mary Samuel won third place for the Penny Bucket Contest. • Maya Catoe serves as Young Adult Department Financial Secretary • Setota Johnson serves as Junior and Young People’s Department Financial Secretary Following is a list of National Elected and Appointed Officers: Appointed o Charles J.
