Doorkeeper Oct 2025

State President: Louis E. Parker, State Reporter: Angela Hardy,

The Alverta E. Darden Education Prayer Breakfast was truly an honor to attend. The event was hosted by the Anne Arundel County Unit at Silas First Baptist Missionary Church in Severna Park, Maryland. We had an amazing time fellowshipping and worshipping. Sis. Alverta E. Darden has passed the torch to Sis. Brittney Spurlock!

Calvert County Unit: Ushers Kenneth Smith, Lavette Howard and Delores Sewell volunteered at Mount Olive United Methodist Church Food Drop. Along with Pastor Dana Jones, they got the chance to bring meals to more than 25 families and elderly people who could not get out. The UCUA of Harford & Cecil Counties celebrated its 53rd Anniversary. It was truly a beautiful affair. Congratulations to President Ollie M. Danage for a job well done. We had an inspirational and well-run 106th National Convention. It took place from July 21 to July 25, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona. Our training was fascinating and educational, the speakers were excellent, and the presentations were informative and engaging. Maryland was blessed to have thirty delegates present. We also want thank God that it was not as hot as was anticipated. Congratulations to the winners listed below: Sis. Julia A. Kitchen is the 2025 National Usher of the Year. The Pansy Bradley-Cooper Instructor of the Year for 2025 Award went to Sis. Linda Parker. Sis. Brittney Spurlock placed second in the Young Adult King & Queen Pageant. Sis. Aniya Blackstone placed second in the Vicie Juran Pageant. Bro. Wilton Graham placed second in Class B from the George T. Grier School of Ushering.
