The Ways of Gentlemen The objective of this program is to educate and guide young males on the principles of becoming gentlemen through a series of structured lessons designed to support their transition into adulthood, particularly addressing gaps that can arise in the absence of paternal figures. Our target demographic includes middle and high school boys residing in urban, high risk communities. To engage participants, rhythmic drumming lessons are incorporated as an entry point to discuss and instill qualities associated with gentlemen—emphasizing the development of integrity, respect, and courtesy. Recognizing that many young men may not have received instruction in essential life skills, the program curriculum covers topics such as proper handshake etiquette, opening doors for others, shaving techniques, respectful treatment of women, tying ties, and personal hygiene. The "HOW TO BE" series utilizes creative and interactive methods to impart these foundational lessons. In support of our hygiene-focused sessions, I.C.U.A. of Chester County generously donated 50 bags containing hygiene supplies—including toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss, soap, socks, and Dove for Men deodorant—to benefit the participants.
