The ushers of Faith Missionary Baptist Church celebrated their annual day on Sunday, February 16, 2025 ( see picture below ) with the theme of “Ushers Committed to Doing the Will of God” taken from Romans 12:2. Rev. Freddie Brown, Jr., Pastor of the Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church brought the message from the theme, where he emphasized that we need to bring our best as a living sacrifice, and to surrender our all is our reasonable service, and that Jesus is the greatest example of a living sacrifice.

The ushers and church family of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church (PRBC) were involved with several activities and efforts during the first quarter of 2025. Sunday, January 26, 2025, was labeled as “All In Sunday”, meaning all virtual members and guests were requested to return to the sanctuary for service. Since placing that request in the atmosphere, the in-person attendance has grown. Pilgrim Rest ushers Carol Brown, Glaydine Stuart, and Marilyn Reed are actively volunteering their time each Saturday to assist individuals with completing their taxes for filing. Pilgrim’s Seniors Ministry hosted a Valentine dance and dinner. Genuine fellowship, great food, and a good time was had by all! To celebrate Black History Month, Pilgrim’s Drama Ministry presented performances, which include the youth portraying our Black leaders and figures who broke the color barrier. Along with their tax assistance duties, Ushers Carol Brown and Marilyn Reed hosted Pilgrim Rest’s noon prayer session on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. Pilgrim’s noon prayer sessions can be viewed on YouTube, Facebook or PRBC live stream. As we come to the close of winter and enter into spring, the United Church Ushers of Arizona prepare for upcoming events and activities. The Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church will host the ASU (Arizona State University) Race for Democracy on Saturday, March 1, 2025, with Spike Lee as the guest speaker, and on Sunday, March 9, 2025, they will celebrate Rev. Dr. Terry E. Mackey’s 6 th Pastoral Anniversary. The Antioch Missionary Baptist Church will hold a health and wellness fair on Saturday, March 8, 2025, then followed by their Annual Women’s Day on Sunday, March 9, 2025, featuring “Shades of Pink” . The Ushers and Nurses of Faith Missionary Baptist will hold their health fair on Saturday, March 22, 2025. The United Church Ushers of Arizona are looking forward to attending the Western Region Conference in Denver, Colorado during April 10-12, 2025. The South Phoenix Missionary Baptist Ushers and Nurses will host Easter Sunrise Service, Sunday, April 20, 2025, and will provide a hearty breakfast after the service. The graduation for the School of Ushering will be held in-person on Monday, April 28, 2025. The ushers of Antioch Missionary Baptist will hold their Annual Ushers Day on Sunday, May 18, 2025. The United Church Ushers of Arizona will focus on the planning and preparation of their main annual fundraiser event, the 4 th annual golf tournament, on Saturday May 31, 2025. As spring brings the mildness of the weather, the beauty of the landscape, and the freshness of the atmosphere, let’s praise our creator, the Lord God Almighty, for who He is (Psalms 24).
