MISSISSIPPI STATE PRESIDENT: Ron Jones STATE REPORTER: Dr. Linda Pates Greetings in the name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! The Mississippi Ushers extend greetings to each of you from the “Magnolia State. ” Accolades go to State President Ron Jones and State Vice President Dr. Linda Pates, who is making strides in recruiting new churches to join the Mississippi State Association of Church Ushers. With their determination and effort, churches and members will participate in the year of our Lord 2025. Mississippi will start the School of Ushering classes to train new ushers and instructors. The classes will also be refresher courses for graduating ushers to update their skills and knowledge. The Mississippi Association of Church Ushers state meetings are held monthly to plan state activities for the Southern Region Conference, and the National Convention. The Mississippi State Ushers Association will host the 66 th Southern Region Conference in Jackson, Mississippi, on April 10-12, 2025. The 2025 Southern Region Honoree is Dr. Linda Pates, 25 th National President and Immediate Past Southern Region Director. Please accept this as an invitation to attend. The senior, young adult, and junior departments will all be represented at the conference. Mt. Elam M. B. Church of Pearl held their 3 rd Annual Scholarship Valentine Gala on Saturday, February 15. The proceeds from the event are awarded to graduating students in May. Dr. Pates attended the National Board of Directors Mid-Winter Meeting on February 19-20 in Phoenix, Arizona, to assist in planning for the 106 th Convention. Dr. Pates was the Black History speaker at her church, Welcome M. B. Church, in Hermanville on Sunday, February 22. The theme was, “The Time is always right to do what is right!” – Martin Luther King, Jr. The state of Mississippi wishes you beautiful moments, treasured memories, and all the blessings a heart can know!
