Purpose: The purpose of the George T. Grier School of Ushering Department is to promote one unified Silent Uniform Method of Ushering set forth in the “ School of Ushering Manual ” published by NUCUAA, Inc. The ultimate goal of this Department is to help develop better Church Ushers in all States that are members of this Organization. At the seat of the National Convention, this Department is responsible for: (1) the training of all Ushers in each Department (Seniors, Young Adults and Junior and Young People) and Certified Instructors in the techniques of Church Ushering at the State and Regional levels; (2) conducting a 2 - hour morning Workshop on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; and (3) conducting the National Floor Demonstration Competition on Tuesday morning, the National Drill Competition on Wednesday morning, and the King and Queen Contest on Thursday morning.

General Workshop

Date: Sunday, July 20, 2025 |Time: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM (All Departments – Uniform is not required) Presiding: Cheryl D. Allen, National Chairman Percy W. (Bill) Fountain, National Vice Chairman

Synopsis: This Workshop is a General Workshop held on Sunday afternoon, the day before the National Convention officially opens. It is available to all Ushers in each Department (Seniors, Young Adults, and Junior and Young People) to discuss, illustrate, and demonstrate the techniques of various signs and signals used in Church Ushering.
