The Interdenominational Church Usher’s Association of Virginia, Inc. (ICUA of VA) greet you in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. On May 16 – 17, 2025 the ICUA of VA held its 68 th Annual State Convention at the Oak Grove Baptist Church, Sterling, Virginia; Rev. Aaron James, Sr., Interim Pastor; hosted by District #4. Unfortunately, Rev. James became ill and was unable to attend the event. The scripture was “ But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those who love him” . 1 Corinthians 2:9 NKJV. Theme: ”The Best Is Yet To Come” . The Convention was productive and an overall success. It was nice to see and fellowship with ushers that we had not seen for a while. We successfully took care of our State business, received reports from our departments and committees, Board of Directors Chairman, State President and Young Adult President. We held the election and installation of new officers. We held our Kensey M. Lewis School of Ushering both days. The class covered ushering in the aisles, relieving the aisle ushers and doorkeepers. The training was new for our first timers and a refresher for most of our ushers. The Floor Demonstration Team and the Drill Team presented their demonstration. The class instructor was Cheryl D. Allen, State President. The Lawrence Wright Outreach Project supported the African American Community Alliance (AACA) in Loudoun County, VA, by giving a monetary donation. The AACA is a charitable organization seeking funds for community service programs to help families in need of clothing, health screens and groceries also child literacy, childhood hunger, educational and workforce development training, scholarships, healthcare education and others.
