State President: Alvin Nurse State Reporter: Vornice Bassett As we usher in the Fall season, we continue to be grateful as God continues to guide and cover us with His love and protection. The Washington State United Christian Church Ushers celebrated 47 years of service at our Annual Convention. Our Convention was held on June 12,13,14, 2025, at the La Quinta Inn and Suites in Tacoma, Washington. Theme: “If every Usher was just like me, what would this Usher Board be?” Scripture: “Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice Hospitality.” Romans 12:13 NIV Our Convention consisted of our Annual Candlelight Memorial and Rededication Service, honoring our recently deceased Ushers; 23 rd Annual Prayer Breakfast in honor of Usher Alyce F. Eagan (deceased); Youth Extravaganza; and the School of Ushering. Five of our Senior outstanding ushers were presented with beautiful plaques for their many years of service. Our Convention concluded with the Charles E. McCraney, Jr. Installation Banquet honoring our 2025 Honoree, UsherWilliam S. Cummins. Usher Cummins has served as an usher since 1963. He is a man of faith and integrity.

The National United Church Ushers honored Usher Charles Houston at the 106 th National Convention in Phoenix Arizona. Usher Houston has served as The Washington State President, Treasurer, Parliamentarian, Board of Directors (member), and School of Ushering Instructor . Usher Houston, your labor is not in vain.
