ARIZONA

On Saturday, May 31, 2025, the United Church Ushers of Arizona hosted its 4 th annual golf tournament fundraiser at the Coldwater Golf Club in Avondale, Arizona. Raffle ticket prizes, thank you bags, lunch, and awards were included as part of the entry fee. A total of 35 hole sponsor signs were sold, along with 51 golfers entering this year’s tournament. The weather was surprisingly pleasant for the early morning gunshot start and like true valley of the sun weather, it became pretty toasty by mid-morning. The tournament winners were 1st place champs Nathan Edgin, Andrew Fett, Dru Hirchak, and Joe Russ; 2nd place winners Timothy Johnson, Mike Richardson, Terry Thomas, and Ken Wade; 3rd place showing Arthur Washington, Curtis Harggo, Will Chamber, and Jeff Stocken ( see pictures below ). Congratulations to all the winners and participants! Looking forward to next year’s 5 th tournament, which is tentatively scheduled for the first Saturday in June 2026.

First Place Champs Third Place Showing The Ushers of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church held their Annual Ushers Day on Sunday May 25, 2025 ( see pictures below ).The program’s theme was “Ushers Be Strong and Put on the Whole Armor of God” and Usher Crystal Johnson chaired the program. Rev. Dr. Karen E. Stewart of First Institutional Baptist Church delivered the message. Antioch senior ushers Rhonda Burton and Yvette Owens were recognized for their faithful and long-time service as church ushers. Second Place Winners
