Greetings from the State of Maryland,
The 68th Eastern Region Conference, held in Parsippany, New Jersey, was a truly wonderful experience. Usher Genevieve Hale was celebrated and recognized during the elegant banquet. Congratulations to Usher Hale for this well-deserved recognition. In addition, Usher Linda Cargo-Montgomery received the Usher of the Year Award, Usher Gwen Middleton was awarded the Second Place Usher of the Year Award, and Usher Andrew Williams was
honored for his contributions to the Nurse’s Department. Congratulations to everyone — keep up the outstanding work!
In the Drill Competition, our Maryland Drill Team participated and finished in second place. We are incredibly proud of all of these wonderful ushers. Thank you to Drill Master Wilton Graham and Linda Spriggs Parker for your leadership.
The State of Maryland collected 200 books for the Mabel A. Grey Education Department.
From April 4, 2025, and April 5, 2025, the State of Maryland celebrated its 75th Diamond Jubilee State Convention at Saint James A.M.E. Church located in Harve de Grace, Maryland. The Rev. Dr. Baron D. Young served as our host pastor. On Friday evening, our Candlelight and Communion Service was graced with an inspiring message delivered by our guest preacher, Rev. William Vincent Pugh Sr. from Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Aberdeen, Maryland. We express our gratitude to Rev. Pugh for his spirit-filled message, and to the Vernon Sewell Ensemble of Saint James A.M.E. for their powerful and uplifting songs.
